Canine Cottage is an award-winning doggy daycare, grooming, boarding, and training facility based in Salem, VA, and set on a large property that is perfect for keeping your dogs happy, healthy, and clean. We offer full-service grooming for puppies, adults, and seniors that keep your pet feeling and smelling fresh.
Our doggy daycare features five different play areas, thoughtfully designed to welcome dogs of all sizes and personalities, ensuring everyone has a fun and comfortable time. Our well-trained staff is happy to provide a safe place for you to board your pet while you are on vacation, and we pride ourselves on safety and communication.
We accept all sizes and breeds of dog at Canine Cottage. We have five separate play yards and can accommodate and adapt to different breeds and personalities.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for aggressive behavior at Canine Cottage, and any red flags will result in immediate dismissal. We prioritize safety above all else, and our staff is trained in canine first aid in case of accident or emergency. You will be contacted immediately if your pet needs a vet visit, and if you don’t answer the phone, we will follow protocol for emergency vet services until we can reach you.
Our hours for drop-off/pickup are:
Monday-Friday: 7:00 am-11:30 and 2:00 pm-6:30 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 am-10 am and 4:00 pm-6:00 pm
We encourage you to drop off in the morning if you are boarding your pet so that they can get a full day of play in.
We recommend that you leave everything but your pup at home. Canine Cottage provides comfortable dog beds and fun toys at no extra charge to you, and it ensures that your furry friend's favorite things stay safe.
Please let us know as soon as you are able if you need to cancel or modify an appointment. We understand that life happens, so we do not charge a cancellation fee for daycare or boarding reservations. Grooming deposits will be applied as a credit to your account for your next service.
We have a large property with five separate play yards, allowing us to mix and match personalities and ensure that every pup in our care has a play experience they enjoy. Our staff is committed to both safety and comfort, and we prioritize your pet’s happiness. A few pointers:
- Minimum of 3 months old, preferred
- Must be spayed if 1 year old, non-neutered males over a year old may not be able to socialize
- Up to date on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella vaccines
- Non-aggressive towards humans
